Jad Mahal
Morocco’s exotic ochre-hued imperial city of Marrakech is extremely vibrant, and the most visited city of North Africa. Apart from the treasured monuments, and its famous souks (markets), and of course the snow-capped Atlas range, Marrakech is renowned for its cuisine. Marrakech has a huge collection of restaurants, cafes and lounges, where one can try every type of Moroccan dish, from – tajines and couscous, to kebabs and merguez. One of the famed restaurants of Marrakech is the Jad Mahal Restaurant, Marrakech.
Bo-Zin
The restaurant is located 3.5 km from Marrakech but it’s definitely worth the drive – a fusion of French, Moroccan and Thai cuisines, one of the “it” places of the moment. Lots of space and a free and easy atmosphere. You will feel a bit like in Thailand while sitting in the enormous garden, lit by countless candles. The great ambience will make you excuse certain faults in service, among them the fact that some of the nuances you can’t quite figure out from the French menu you will sadly find out only on tasting the dish. Bo-Zin is one of those places you want to come back to.
Azar
Situated in the heart of Gueliz, the Marrakech foreign quarter, Azar brasserie proposes a refined Lebanese cuisine in its purist tradition. It also combines the food with an exotic Moroccan Atmosphere. From the archtecture to the interior design, this restaurant is true to its perfection of sophisticaton. It’s purely fabulous! The restaurant offers a mezzanine where one may enjoy lunch or dinner, thus offering two atmospheres.
Le Foundouk
Tucked away in a hidden backstreet of the Medina’s less touristy northern district is one of our favourite restaurants in Marrakech, Le Foundouk. With an air of mystery, their team of cloaked Moroccan men guide you down a narrow, winding and dusty alley and inside a secret door, where a stylish sanctuary will be revealed as you step inside this modern reinterpretation of an ancient travellers inn. Set within a dramatic multi-level dining space with soaring high ceilings, enjoy a quiet aperitif in their cosy lounge bar, savour the prime people-watching balcony views from the first floor tables overlooking the giant wrought-iron candelabra, or retreat to the rooftop terrace for romantic alfresco dining. After dinner, sink into one of the plush purple-hued lounges for a cocktail or a glass of local Moroccan wine.
El Karmoussa
In the former pool house of the Palmeraie Golf Palace of Marrakech, on the side of the green, you will discover El Karmoussa, meaning “The fig”. The decor is baroque-style and the cuisine is 100% Morroccan gastronomic cuisine, revisited with panache and served to the rhythm of dancers and musicians. The unique menu uncovers nearly forgotten ancestral recipes and presents them perfectly.
